We’re very fortunate to have our own well equipped shack. On HF we’re currently QRV from 40m up to 6m using our Elecraft K3 running through or with an Expert Amp 1K-FA giving 400 reliable watts to a 3 element SteppIR beam from 20-10m and which acts as a rotary folded back dipole on 30/40m. The beam antenna is mounted atop an 18m Strumech Versatower and turned with a Yaesu (Standard) DXC2800 rotator. The K3 is supplemented by an SDRPlay panadaptor / 2nd receiver on the shack PC.
The system is integrated via the PC using the Win4K3 software to ensure that the SteppIR, Amplifier and all the software follows the user’s control of the K3 front panel for logging and other automated functions. This enables a fairly sophisticated system to be used by the operator just concentrating on the K3 radio and the PC logging program.
For a current tally of the DXCC we’ve worked from the club take a look at the Clublog panel of the side of this page. It also shows our last 10 QSOs and lets you search our current log for a QSO with us.
